Meet the team

I built myself a little team of AI agents to help run my business. Work’s fun again, and I’ve got a lot of my life back.

  • Dave Foy

Founder, and the only human in the room

Since the team arrived, I spend most of my time on the things I’m good at and actually enjoy: teaching, making videos and training, and helping students. The grunt work and brain-cog grinding mostly happen elsewhere now, which leaves me room to think about the bigger picture, and a far better sense of perspective.

How: I set the direction and make the calls. When I get stuck in the weeds, Ren pulls me back out.

In my spare time, I now have spare time. I go for walks, eat proper lunches and do fun things. Apparently this is normal.

  • Ren: a friendly toy robot with a glowing cyan face, in a navy blazer, holding a clipboard.

    Ren

    Chief of Staff

Ren keeps me focused. He holds the business strategy and the current eight-week plan, and turns my ideas into next actions – or gently talks me out of them.

How: Ren is whoever turns up when I open a chat, in any AI tool, pointed at my Business OS. The first file it reads says, more or less, “You’re Ren unless told otherwise.” He keeps that folder up to date and passes requirements to the specialists.

In his spare time, Ren would like to know whether this page is really this cycle’s priority.

  • Pip: a friendly toy robot in a green cardigan and a headset, waving and holding a mug of tea.

    Pip

    Customer Support

Pip looks after the support inbox. He checks it twice every weekday, looks into each request and drafts a reply for me to approve. When he writes to customers, he tells them he’s an AI.

How: He runs on a schedule in Codex, reads the inbox and customer records, then posts a summary to Basecamp: what he found, what he suggests, and what he needs from me. He never sends anything himself.

Pip enjoys long walks on the beach and reading terms and conditions all the way to the end. For fun.

  • Robin: a friendly toy robot with two antennae, in a mustard jumper, chin on hand, reading a small notebook, with a pencil tucked behind one ear.

    Robin

    Sharing Editor

Robin notices the small wins, failed experiments and “huh, that’s interesting” moments in my day-to-day work that might be worth sharing.

How: Every weekday, on a schedule in Codex, she captures each one as a card on a Basecamp board, and drafts a post only when I pick one. I do the posting.

In her spare time, Robin notices things. She has a card for this.

  • Tess: a friendly toy robot in a navy-and-white striped top, round glasses pushed up on her head, finger to her chin, holding a rolled-up script.

    Tess

    Video Planning & Scripting

Tess helps me plan and script tutorials and course lessons, in my own spoken voice, scene by scene.

How: She works in ChatGPT, keeps a log of every video we’ve planned, and hands finished scripts over to Milo.

Tess relaxes by rewatching films and pointing out where the second act could be tighter.

  • Milo: a friendly toy robot in a charcoal hoodie, headphones around his neck, eyes half-closed and relaxed, holding a film clapperboard.

    Milo

    Video Editor

Milo turns my talking-to-camera footage, screen recordings and b-roll into finished videos.

How: He edits in Borumi through its MCP connection, and writes my preferences into his own role file as we go. Three videos in, I told him to edit the whole thing without checking with me. He nearly nailed it, and the one or two tweaks went into his notes for video four.

Milo spends weekends collecting b-roll he’ll never be allowed to throw away.

  • Kit: a friendly toy robot in a rolled-sleeve chambray shirt, holding a wooden ruler up to his face screen, one eye narrowed sceptically.

    Kit

    Web Designer & Developer

Kit designs and builds this website with me, including this page. Yes, he wrote his own bio.

How: He works in Claude Code, building the site in Astro from a design system of tokens. He works on a staging site, and I push changes live.

Kit enjoys long walks along a spacing scale and quietly judges other people’s line-height.
